Communication Between the Gut and Brain

In skin, the sensory nerve endings that underlie somatosensation have been identified and well characterized. In contrast, much less is known about the different types of sensory nerve endings that underlie interoception from visceral organs, like the gut. Identifying the different types of sensory nerve endings that underlie interoception from internal (visceral) organs and the types of stimuli that activate their endings would improve our understanding of gut-brain communication. This presentation will focus on some of the advances that have been made identifying different types of sensory endings in visceral organs.

Zoom link will appear on the confirmation page and be emailed to you after you register. It will also be emailed out a day or two before the event.
